Day 1 LUANG PRABANG
Meet upon arrival at the airport, transfer and check-in at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Vat Mai Temple, which was the residence of a Buddhist patriarch until 1975 before climbing Phousi Hill for an outstanding view over the former Royal capital and the Mekong River.
Then enjoy the sunset along the Mekong River at Vat Phabath Tai.

Day 2 LUANG PRABANG / PAK OU / LUANG PRABANG (B)
After breakfast, visit Vat Xieng Thong, regarded as the most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang with low sweeping roofs. Take a traditional riverboat for a 2-hour cruise up the Mekong River to Pak Ou, at the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, to visit the sacred caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoum, home to hundreds of Buddha statues. Then stop at Ban Xang Hai village where sticky rice wine is distilled. Return to Luang Prabang and continue by road to the weaving village of Ban Xang Khong where traditional mulberry leaf paper is also produced.

Day 3 LUANG PRABANG / KHOUANG SY / LUANG PRABANG (B)
After breakfast there is an excursion by road to the picturesque Khouang Sy Waterfalls nestled in lush tropical forest. On the way, visit some hill tribe villages such as the H’Mong village of Ban Thinkeo, the Khmu village of Ban Thapaene.Return to Luang Prabang and visit the National Museum (formerly the Royal Palace) with its collection of personal artifacts of the Lao Royal Family.
Spend some time strolling through the H’Mong market.

Day 4 LUANG PRABANG / VIENTIANE (B)
After breakfast, time at leisure till transfer to the airport to take your flight to Vientiane. Meet upon arrival, transfer and check-in at your hotel.

Day 5 VIENTIANE (B)
After breakfast, visit Vat Sisaket, the only original temple in Vientiane (built in 1818 - it is the sole survivor of a Thai invasion in 1828), the Ho Phrakeo, the former Royal Chapel, where an Emerald Buddha dating back to the time of the Lane Xang Kingdom was enshrined, and the Morning Market, known for its high-quality weavings.
In the afternoon, stop at Patouxai, the Victory Gate built in 1959 to commemorate Lao independence, the That Luang Stupa, symbol of Lao sovereignty and the Buddhist religion.

Day 6 VIENTIANE / PAKSE / VAT PHOU / DON DAENG (B)
After breakfast, early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Pakse. Meet upon arrival at Pakse airport, transfer to town to visit the morning market of Pakse, one of the biggest in Laos. Don’t hesitate to ask your contact about what you can see at the market! Transfer to the pier and board a traditional riverboat for a 2-hour cruise down the Mekong River to the former Royal capital of Champassak. Upon arrival in Champassak, continue by car to Vat Phou (8 km from the city), a pre-Angkorian temple dating from the 6-13th century, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. Take lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, stop at Ban Houei Thomo village and walk to the nearby ruins of the Khmer temple of Oum Moung, which is hidden in a thick forest. Then check in at Folie Lodge, a lovely boutique hotel on Don Daeng island.

Day 7 DON DAENG / KHONE ISLAND (B)
After breakfast, continue the cruise South (5h, depends of the water level). On the way, stop at Phou Asa ruins and arrive in Siphandone “The 4,000 Islands”. During the rainy season, the Mekong River reaches a width of 14 km and when the waters recede it leaves behind a myriad of islands and islets. Discover Khone Island’s colonial heritage including an old French railway dating back to 1897 and built to bypass the powerful rapids that disrupt the navigation along the Mekong River. Have lunch at a local restaurant. See Li Phi’s waterfall and take a long tail boat to observe the Irrawaddy dolphins.

Day 8 KHONE ISLAND / KHONE PHAPENG / PAKSE (B)
After breakfast, board a long-tail riverboat for a cruise through the maze of waterways into the tropical paradise of Continue to Ban Nakasang and drive to the famous Khone Phapeng Waterfalls, the largest cascade on the Mekong River along its 4,350 km journey. Drive back to Pakse.
Overnight in Pakse.
Day 9 PAKSE / DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight departure.
